The Tenafly Nature Center is now offering monthly Nature Story Time sessions for children.
According to the Natural Start Alliance, children who are supported in their love for animals, tend to generalize that love to other living things, such as plants and nature. By supporting children’s love for animals, you may be helping to nurture those all-important feelings of connection and stewardship as well.
With the Nature Story Time program, families with children ages 3-7 can experience fun and educational nature-themed stories and even a visit from one of Tenafly Nature Center’s Animal Ambassadors. You will learn all about the visiting animal and how they came to the Tenafly Nature Center. New stories and animals are introduced monthly. Animal Ambassadors may include snakes, frogs, turtles, owls, or even a hawk!
Children must be accompanied by an adult. The Nature Story Time program is currently held entirely outdoors. In case of inclement weather, the program will be postponed to the following month. Space is limited for Nature Story Time sessions and pre-registration is required.
