The 2017 AP District Honor Roll consists of 433 school districts in the U.S. and Canada that have simultaneously achieved increases in access to Advanced Placement courses for a broader number of students and also maintained or improved the rate at which their AP students earned scores of 3 or higher on an AP Exam.
Criteria to Earn inclusion on AP District Honor Roll:
- Increase participation/access by a certain percentage depending on district size
- Increase or maintain the percentage of exams taken by black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native students
- Improve or maintain the percentage of students scoring a 3 or higher (out of 5) on AP exams, or achieve 70 percent proficiency or higher
