Fresh Citrus Cranberry Sauce
You can not, I repeat CAN NOT have Thanksgiving without cranberry sauce! This is my version using a little orange juice and zest to give it just a little extra tang! Enjoy!
What you need
- One 12oz bag of fresh cranberries
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup fresh orange juice (plus 1 tablespoon of orange zest)
- 1 cup sugar
- Pinch of salt
What you do
- Bring water, juice and sugar to boil.
- Add washed cranberries and the zest.
- Return to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and use a potato masher to smash larger cranberries.
- Allow to cool at room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.
