Daytrip Destinations from Bergen County: Palaia Winery & Vineyards in Highland M

Did you know that New York State's Hudson Valley is the oldest grape-growing/wine-making region in the nation and that this beautiful area offers an incredible selection of wineries and vineyards, many within easy driving distance from Bergen County?  Palaia Winery & Vineyards, located just 25 miles from the Bergen County border and 5 miles from Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, is on our list of Hudson Valley wine destinations to consider visiting this fall season.

Palaia Winery & Vineyards has been a working farm since 1784 when it was purchased from none other than Aaron Burr. Once a dairy farm, it is now home to 10+ acres of vineyards and 32 beautiful acres of land. The vineyard features Cabernet Franc, Traminette, Lemberger and Pinot Noir. The original 200+ year old barn has been restored, preserving the original look and feel of this historic building. It now houses a beautiful, clean winery on the lower level, with a tasting room above.

Friendly People and Award-Winning Wines

The staff at Palaia Winery & Vineyards is committed to making sure that their guests enjoy a fun tasting experience in a relaxed environment. You're not going to find snobby or pushy wine people behind the bar. Plus, they happen to have great wine at reasonable prices, with a variety of wines available for tasting and purchase. Many Palaia wines have been recognized and received medals in both domestic and international competitions. Click here for the wine tastings schedule and a list of Palaia wines.
