The Bergen County Home Improvement Program provides resources to rehabilitate existing one and two-family housing. It increases the supply of safe, suitable and affordable housing for low-income Bergen County residents.
This program is designed to assist owners / occupants of one- and two-family homes in making necessary repairs to their homes.
Eligibility is based on income, family size and type of improvement. Eligible improvements include bathrooms, kitchens, doors and windows, electrical, exterior and interior paintin,insulation,plumbing and heating,roofs, sidewalks and driveways, siding, leaders and gutters, steps and porches, storm windows, walls and ceilings.
The Bergen County Home Improvement Program provides loans up to $17,500 for a one-family home and up to $25,000 for a two-family home at a simple rate of 3%. This is all based on income.
