Bergenfield Food & Fright Festival: Parade, Halloween Day Trunk or Treating, Food Crawl! Don’t Miss Event!

Bergenfield Food & Fright Festival
The Go Bergenfield District Alliance is back with one of the biggest and best Bergen County events of the Halloween/Fall season. The second annual “Food and Fright Festival,” hosted by the Go Bergenfield District Alliance, will kick off on Friday, October 26, 2018 with the first day of the Bergenfield Food Crawl, and run through Sunday, November 4. The full Bergenfield Food & Fright Festival will consist of a parade on Saturday, October 27 and a Halloween Day event with multiple family activities, Trick or Treating and ongoing entertainment.

“The Halloween Day event is an evening where the community can come together and have fun with one another,” said Mayor Norman Schmelz. “It allows parents to get into the Halloween spirit of costumes and candy and spend quality time with their kids.”

Bergenfield Food & Fright Event Schedule

  • Friday, October 26: ​​The Food Crawl Begins! Be sure to pick up your food passport to not miss any of the great $5 deals offered at 25 participating restaurants.
  • Saturday, October 27:​​ Parade at 10:00 am at Cooper’s Pond
  • Wednesday, October 31: ​​Halloween Day Event from 4:00-7:00 pm on South Washington Avenue.
    • Halloween day event will take place between Clinton Avenue and Main Street.
    • Street Closures will begin at 3:00 pm and reopen at 8:00 pm.
    • Trunk or Treat will start at 4:00 pm.

    • Entertainment will include balloon artists and DJ
  • Sunday, November 4:​​ Last Day of the Food Crawl! Don’t forget to turn in your food passport full of the stamps you collected for a chance to win prizes or the grand prize of a $500 Visa gift card.

This year’s Food Crawl will be ten days long and offer $5 deals and menu items from 25 different Bergenfield restaurants. You can pick up your “Food Crawl Passport” from Bergenfield Town Hall, the Bergenfield Library or any Bergenfield eatery. All participating restaurants and the $5 deal they are offering can be found listed inside with a corresponding box to be stamped when you partake in that deal. At the end of the Food Crawl, mail in the back page of your passport for a chance​at winning over $1,000 in prizes or the grand prize of a $500 Visa gift card courtesy of New Jersey Eye Center. You must dine at a minimum of three establishments participating in the Food Crawl to be eligible to enter the drawing. The ​Go Bergenfield District Alliance (GBDA), a Special Improvement District, is a public private partnership formed as a collaboration between the business community and the Borough of Bergenfield.
