Two Bergen County malls have made NJ.com's annual list of 10 Best New Jersey Malls for Food. Food critic Peter Genovese considered the quality of food, range of options, and food court design and appearance as major factors in ranking New Jersey mall food. Major chains such as McDonald's and Wendy's were not included. One-of-a-kind single-location restaurants and food stands were given extra points.
Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus was ranked second overall and Shops at Riverside in Hackensack ranked fourth in the Top 10 Best New Jersey Malls for Food rankings.
Best Mall Dishes in Bergen County
Genovese also ranked the ten best New Jersey mall dishes, with the sushi and sashimi sampler at Sarku, Westfield Garden State Plaza ranking fifth in the state, the double chocolate cupcake/CrosBun at Au Bon Pain at The Shops at Riverside taking sixth and tacos at Pancheros at Paramus Park taking 10th.
