“The Mystery of Edwin Drood” at Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre in Paramus

Get ready for a night of musical comedy as the Bergenstages theatre troupe brings The Mystery of Edwin Drood to the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre in Paramus. This hilarious whodunit, inspired by Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel, invites the audience to play detective by choosing the identity of the murderer, making each performance uniquely unpredictable!

Directed by theatre professor Jim Bumgardner and with music directed by performing arts professor Jessica Abrams, Drood features a “show-within-a-show” format, presented by the delightfully eccentric Music Hall Royale, a Victorian theatre company that adds comedic flair to Dickens’ brooding tale. The show features a Tony Award-winning score by Rupert Holmes including musical numbers such as “Perfect Strangers,” “Don’t Quit While You’re Ahead,” “Off to the Races,” and “Moonfall.”

Performances take place on Friday, December 6; Saturday, December 7; Thursday, December 12; Friday, December 13; and Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 pm. Matinee performances take place on Saturday, December 7, and Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 pm. Audiences are invited to attend a special post-show audience talk-back immediately following the December 12 performance.
