Easy to Grow Native Plants
Silverstein's program is titled 'Easy to Grow Native Plants'. In this slide presentation, Elaine will take attendees on a trip through an entire growing season in her Glen Rock garden, introducing and discussing over fifty species of beautiful, colorful, easy-to-grow native plants.
Elaine Silverstein is a professional horticulturist who designs gardens based on native plants. She is certified in Sustainable Landscape Management by the New York Botanical Garden, and her particular interest (and passion) is creating a sustainable landscape and a sense of place — she helps homeowners throughout Bergen County improve the sustainability of their properties. Elaine is also a columnist and writes the Backyard Environmentalist column that appears in the Glen Rock Gazette.
All gardeners, active and armchair, from all towns, are invited to attend. The program will be followed by a 'Q & A' session and refreshments. Hostesses for the evening are Esther Ross and Jagdish Sidhu.
