JDK Social Station: Enhancing Children’s Social and Living Skills
JDK Social Station in Secaucus, New Jersey, is a specialized multi-sensory teaching facility that enhances the learning, social, and interactive skills of children with social deficits and other related issues. Programs are individualized for each child to reach their maximum potential. Emphasis is placed on teaching children to develop self-confidence, play skills, social skills, and problem-solving techniques. JDK’s inclusion program welcomes children ages 3 to 15 years of age. JDK Social Station provides classes, summer camps, and special programs and events.
JDK Social Station Weekly Social Skills and Music & Movement Classes
JDK Social Station offers weekly social skills classes and weekly music & movement classes. These 10-week sessions are held in winter, spring, and fall for children ages 3-15. JDK also offers summer camps, private Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, special events, and private sessions that focus on food exposure and toleration and haircut exposure and toleration.
Teachers at JDK Social Station are highly trained to give personalized guidance, empowering families with the knowledge and strategies necessary to work towards their children’s specific goals. Individualized goals are addressed based on teacher observations, parent input, and IEPS/progress report goals, as well as daily or weekly reports.

JDK Social Station’s approach includes a variety of interactive methods such as discuss-demonstrate-do, structured lessons, and problem-solving techniques. Blossoming Buddies Spring Social Skills Classes
Foster your child’s social skills at JDK Social Station’s Blossoming Buddies Spring Social Skills Classes, held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 11:00 am-12:30 pm beginning April 5, 2025. These 10-week sessions, focus on individualized social skills for each student and include:
- Self regulation strategies

- Age appropriate weekly social skills topics

- Art and music integrated sessions

Private Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy
JDK’s Private ABA Therapy, for ages 18 months to 18 years, helps people with developmental disorders and autism to improve their behaviors and skills, and is based on scientific principles of behavior and learning. Private ABA Therapy sessions focus on:

- Building Daily Living Skills

Haircut Exposure and Toleration Program
This program is designed to assist families who struggle with toleration issues surrounding haircuts by providing training to help increase tolerance and preparation. Haircut Exposure and Toleration Program offerings Include:
- Increased opportunities to practice various aspects, including toleration of capes, hair brushing, buzzers, and scissors
- Skilled therapists working under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Positive reinforcement and shaping strategies
- Individualized sessions based on need
- Support at salon/barbershop available
Food Exposure and Toleration Therapy
Skilled therapists work with your child on trying new foods as well as increasing opportunities to practice skills surrounding meal times. Food Exposure and Toleration Therapy offerings include:
- Skilled therapists working under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Positive reinforcement
- Parent training across multiple settings to ensure generalization
Summer Camps
Developing social skills while having fun at summer camp! Sounds good, right? JDK Social Station’s Summer Camps focus on fostering social and emotional development through fun-filled themed weeks of camp. Camps run from August 4 through August 29, from 9:00 am-2:00 pm (full day) or 9:00 am-12:00 pm (half-day). Choose one week or all four! Before and aftercare is available.

August 18-August 22: Sensory Scientists
Get ready for a week of sensory science fun! Young scientists will dive into fun experiments—creating slime, foam, and playdough, building volcanoes and tornadoes, and so much more! As imaginations run wild, campers will discover how science, math, and reading come together in a world of hands-on exploration. Kids build important social skills like practicing good manners, respecting personal space, respecting one another, waiting their turn, and working together
August 25-August 29: Celebration Week
Each day of camp will feature a different holiday or special event—think Birthday Day, Halloween, Winter Holiday Day, and more! Campers will dress up, practice party skills, go trick-or-treating, and take part in fun holiday-themed activities. The grand finale? A talent show where every camper gets a chance to shine and perform for an audience! Along the way, kids will build confidence and social skills, learning how to navigate parties, celebrations, and performances in a fun and supportive environment.
