In addition to its popular dinner service, Cresskill restaurant Jugemu is now serving lunch Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Sunday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Lunch specials include:
- Sushi Gozen—6 pieces of nigiri (tuna, salmon, hamachi, shrimp, 2 chefs selection), 1 roll, and 3 pieces of tempura; served with miso soup
- Sashimi Gozen— 5 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of tempura; served with rice, miso soup and pickled radish
- Seasonal Special Gozen—Japanese hot pot with vegetable and fish, shrimp kosen age, and cucumber roll with Jugemu sauce #01; served with 3 kinds of appetizers
- Chirashi Lunch—10 pieces of assorted sashimi slices over sushi rice; served with miso soup
- Chicken Teriyaki—Grilled chicken with teriyaki glaze; served with rice, miso soup and pickled radish
- Vegetarian Lunch—Assorted vegetable tempura and eggplant agebitashi; served with rice and miso soup
- Tempura Udon—Udon noodles in our original dashi broth; served with 1 piece of shrimp tempura and 2 kinds of vegetable tempura (udon only also available)
The word Jugemu translates to “limitless life” and represents the endless possibilities that Japanese dining at the restaurant offers to diners. “We strive to provide an authentic Japanese dining experience for all our guests,” said Masa Fukano, founder, noting that the restaurant even has fish delivered daily directly from the famed Tsujiki market in Japan. “And we hope to reach an even broader audience by starting our new lunch service.”
Jugemu is located at 156 Piermont Rd in Cresskill, New Jersey. Chef Yoshii and his staff are guided by their “respect for authentic Japanese cuisine” and meticulous service. The restaurant offers a curated selection of sake and omakase at the sushi bar, as well as authentic Japanese dishes, sushi, and sides.
