The Community Chest 85th Anniversary Gala will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 6:30 pm at Montammy Golf Club, 7 Montammy Drive, Alpine, New Jersey. The Community Chest 85th Anniversary Gala will celebrate 85 years of service to the community.
With the motto “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”, the organization’s mission is to lead initiatives and support nonprofits that make communities stronger and benefit people in eastern Bergen County, New Jersey. The 85th anniversary gala’s net proceeds will be used to meet the pressing issues of people in need in the area.
The annual gathering brings together friends and supporters to fulfill The Chest’s mission started by its founders 85 years ago. They continue the vision to fill a chest with individuals and businesses’ generous contributions and to empty its contents by awarding grant funds to support worthy projects led by area nonprofits. Each year, The Community Chest undertakes this mission with increased benevolence to help people in need.
The gala committee comprised of Chair Barbara Straus, Marcie Mann, Tom Manolio, Sandy Pinto, Melanie Simon, Franci Steinberg, and Jami Toolen promises an evening of fun with cocktails, a buffet dinner, and a benefit auction. This year, The Community Chest recognizes these individuals and organizations for their contributions to the community: Richard Engel and Swait Rao-Engel, Connect One Bank, and The Rotary Club of Englewood.
Master of Ceremonies Lori Stokes, co-anchor of Good Day New York, returns to officiate at the annual fundraising gala. A range of products will be available to bid upon in the silent and live auctions with noted auctioneer Nick Dawes from Antiques Road Show. The program also features a magical musical performance by the Young People’s Chorus @ Thurnauer.
