Is the Longer Allergy Season Getting to You? Consider Acupuncture as Treatment Option

Do you suffer from seasonal allergies? Does it feel like the allergy season just will not end? Well you’re not alone. This year’s allergy season is expected to run through June, and for many Bergen County area allergy sufferers, the misery of seasonal allergy symptoms including sneezing, wheezing, itchy eyes, trouble sleeping, etc., will be lasting longer.

Every spring, summer, and fall, plants release pollen grains to fertilize other plants. Most of the pollen that causes allergic reactions comes from trees, weeds, and grasses. These plants generate pollen grains that travel by the wind, affecting the eyes, noses, and sinuses of allergy sufferers. The spring allergy season generally ends in May, but this year higher pollen counts are continuing through June. Tree pollination begins earliest in the year, followed by grass pollination later in the spring and summer, and ragweed in the late summer and fall.

During the change of seasons in northern New Jersey, many people develop colds or allergies. The body needs energy to shift from season to season with the changes in the environment. If the immune system is already weak, it is easier for a virus to wreak havoc on your body and make you sick.

Acupuncture for Seasonal Allergies

Acupuncture is a safe, painless, all-natural therapy that can assist with allergy relief and other physical conditions. Using tiny needles, acupuncture positively benefits the nervous, endocrine, respiratory, and immune systems as an aid for allergies, as well as for stress, insomnia, low energy and fatigue, anxiety and depression, digestion, weight loss, headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and relief of various aches and pains. Acupuncture can also help to boost your blood circulation, relax your muscles, release tension, and balance hormones. This can result in reduced pain and improved range of motion and performance.
